Abortion is allowed at any time during pregnancy, but now there’s a push to make this part of our state’s constitution and have taxpayers fund it.
Abortion radicals from across the country want to enshrine the “right” to abortion in the Colorado Constitution so they can keep their pockets lined with profits from “abortion tourism” into our state. And they want you to pay for abortions with your tax funds.
If this happens, it would be harder to:
- Protect young girls from being pushed towards abortion as the only option for an unplanned pregnancy.
- Stop the trafficking of women into our state for forced abortions.
- Enact laws that make sure women know all their options before deciding on an abortion, protecting them from an industry that prioritizes profit.
- Ban late-term abortions that are cruel to the fetus and partial-birth abortions, which are illegal under federal law but still occur.
- Pass any laws that would limit abortions in any way.
The good news is the amendment hasn’t been passed yet. There’s still time to inform and gather support from Coloradans who disagree with abortion up to the moment of birth.
There’s time to get churches involved to help vote against this amendment and support women facing unplanned pregnancies.
We can still prevent this amendment from forcing those against abortion to go against their beliefs. Our group, Coloradans for the Protection of Women and Children, is working to stop this amendment to save lives and prevent the heartache abortion causes.
We’re telling people all over our state why it’s important to work together to stop this amendment.
